Maybelline Fit Me Matte+Poreless | Foundation, Concealer, and Powder Review

I might be a little late to the band wagon. Maybelline has had this product out for a while now and finally I got to try it out!

At my age you'd think I knew my way around make up but the staples in my kit since I was 12 has always been just face powder and lipgloss. I made the update to lipstick when I was a junior in high school (and obsessed ever since).

The only other time I had any other make up was when my cousin got me this eye shadow palette back when we were 17ish. Another cousin introduced me to make up brushes and bronzer.

I am now in my 30s and I thought it would be high time to actually learn how to wear at least the basics in make up and I have heard so many good things about Maybelline's Fit Me Matte+Poreless collection.

What did I get?

I was only ever supposed to be getting the concealer and/or the powder but they were all on sale and they were calling to me. Hehe.

Maybelline Fit Me Matte+Poreless Liquid Foundation in Warm Nude (128) | Sale Price: Php399/$7.46

I had a little help in finding the shade closest to my skin tone. I'm asian but not Oriental so my skin tone is not completely brown but not yellowish white either. Warm nude isn't that dark but I was advised that when it oxidizes on the skin it goes a little bit darker.

Maybelline is drugstore make up at it's finest. The foundation was light on my face. It didn't feel like I had any foundation on. It didn't lool cakey but it also didn't cover my huge pores as much as I was expecting it to. It's kinda hard to get the right amount of foundation on my hand because the bottle didn't have a nozzle.

Maybelline Fit Me Concealer in Sand
Sale Price: Php199 /$3.72

I was advised that since the foundation was on the warmer side I needed a lighter shade for the concealer. This was actually the reason why I wanted to get the collection in the first place. I've been trying to look for a way to brighten the dark spots under my eyes. Good thing this was on sale.

I had to watch some Youtube videos on how to apply a concealer. I watched some where they say to not apply a concealer like a Youtuber. Basically I got the general idea and I'm kinda experimenting from there. So far I like the way it has brightened my eye area and hide some of those dark spots. It doesn't completely cover it like what I saw in Youtube but maybe that's just me or I haven't learned to properly put it on and blend it yet.

Maybelline Fit Me Matte+Poreless Pressed Powder in Natural Beige (220) | Sale Price: Php299/$5.59

Beige has always been my go to shade for pressed powders so this was a no brainer. After putting on the foundation and the concealer, the oressed powder will actually complete the mattifying and (kinda) poreless look. I'm a little too hard on the poreless factor because I have huge pores and I'm expecting them to magically disappear. LOL.

Is it worth it?

The Fit Me Matte+Poreless collection were made for normal to oily skin and it boasts natural poreless-looking finish for up to 12hr wear.

My oil glands (eps. the ones on my nose) are over achievers. Aside from that problem area I'd say the foundation, concealer, and powder do last up to 12hrs. I just needed to powder my nose after maybe 3-4 hours after putting on my make up.

My pores still show a little but maybe that's just me and I my skin looks fine to everyone else. This could lead to another experiment that I might need to use a primer before I put on the foundation and concealer.

After all that I'd say the product, along with the affordable price, is worth it most specially for beginners like me. Next on my shopping list is mascara. 😉
