The Book Reader Problems Tag

I have been transparent on how my head isn't the best place right now but I don't want to neglect my blog. So I hope my readers understand when I post less than usual until I get things together. For now I'm doing this tag to put some thoughts into writing. Let me present the book reader problems tag.

YOU HAVE 20.000 BOOKS IN YOUR TBR. HOW DO YOU DECIDE WHAT TO READ NEXT?

I actually have about 8,000+ (give or take the number of multiple copies I have) books (hard copies and e-books). I may have read about 2% of those books and my collection keeps growing. I basically decide what to read next by what catches my eye in Twitter or the reading groups I am a member of in Facebook or whatever I get from Netgalley.

YOU’RE HALFWAY THROUGH A BOOK AND JUST NOT LOVING IT – DO YOU PUT IT DOWN OR ARE YOU COMMITTED?

I put it down. I have never picked up a book I've DNFed to finish. I rarely DNF books and if I do that means something.

THE END OF THE YEAR IS COMING AND YOU’RE BEHIND ON YOUR READING CHALLENGE. DO YOU TRY TO CATCH UP? AND IF SO, HOW?

I am currently 9 books behind on my reading challenge and I don't have the heart to read. Last year I was able to catch and even overshoot my reading challenge with a couple of books because I had those short Nancy Drew Mystery books. I'm not sure if I can finish my challenge this year but I'll try to catch up with my reading when my head is better.

THE COVERS OF A SERIES YOU LOVE DO NOT MATCH. HOW DO YOU COPE?

I usually think that there will be other cover versions that will come out and then they will eventually match. I refrain from buying hard copies until then.

EVERYONE AND THEIR MOTHER LOVES A BOOK THAT YOU DO NOT. WHO DO YOU BOND WITH OVER YOUR SHARED FEELINGS?

Oh I have my coven of like minded witches where we cackle and brew potions to throw at the book. LOL

YOU’RE READING A BOOK IN PUBLIC AND YOU’RE ABOUT TO START CRYING. HOW DO YOU DEAL?

I don't care about the public, I'll still bawl my eyes out.

THE SEQUEL TO A BOOK YOU LOVED JUST CAME OUT, BUT YOU’VE FORGOTTEN A LOT OF WHAT HAPPENS. ARE YOU GOING TO REREAD IT?

I just need to read the first few pages of the new book and everything that I read in previous book will all come flooding back to me.

YOU DO NOT WANT ANYONE TO BORROW YOUR BOOKS. HOW DO YOU POLITELY SAY NO WHEN SOMEONE ASKS?

My books, my rules. I don't need to be polite. I don't like lending out my books if you're not a certified bookworm and follow my rules and sign over your firstborn child as damage collateral.

YOU HAVE PICKED UP AND PUT DOWN 5 BOOKS IN THE LAST MONTH. HOW DO YOU GET OVER THIS READING SLUMP?

I haven't even picked any other book up. I just read a few sentences in the 1 book I started in the last 2 weeks.

THERE ARE SO MANY BOOKS COMING OUT THAT YOU ARE DYING TO READ, HOW MANY DO YOU END UP BUYING?

Oh. My. Goodness. I still have books I want to buy from years ago. I have gone on book ban after book ban because I just haven't been able to keep up with the ones I already bought but have not read yet. I might go to Netgalley again and end up with a few more galleys to add to my list of NTR (need to read) books.

AFTER YOU PURCHASE ALL OF THESE BOOKS YOU’RE DYING TO READ, HOW LONG DO THEY SIT ON YOUR SHELVES BEFORE YOU GET TO THEM?

Please refer to answer above. Sometimes I even forget I have them and when I clean up my books I discover unopened new books or duplicate copies.

And there you go with the book reader problem tag. I know for a fact that we have a host of other reader problems but that's just for us bookworms to keep doing.
