Today is my blog's 1st birthday and I want to do a personal blog that shows a little bit of the lives of bloggers - especially your's truly. I was looking for a book anniversary tag and I found this instead, it's a little bit old and a lot of people have done it but I haven't. How Long Have You Been A Blogger?
I've been blogging on and off for the past 10 years. My first blog was solely a book review blog, then a few years later I did a food/restaurant review blog, and somewhere along the line I think I also did a journal type blog where I wrote down mostly what's been happening and some lifestyle stuff.
My current blog (where you are right now) is a combination of all of those earlier blogs - I do bookish reviews (book reviews, tours, book mail, author interviews), food/restaurant reviews (my cooking, my partner's cooking, when we eat out), and of course the journal part where I post my travels, rants, and other things.
I don't remember what my exact excuses were as to why I stopped writing in my earlier blogs but mostly I think I let my life become too overwhelming that even writing in my blog is a chore. I was scared that this would happen to my current blog too but look where I am now - celebrating my blog's 1st birthday. This is so awesome!
At what point do you think you will stop?
Stop blogging? Uhm..I don't want to. Well, not in any foreseeable future, no. I want to see how my blog will grow with me as I grow older, experience, learn and forget things. I want to be able to look back to posts in 10 years and see how much different I am as a person. (saaaapppyyyy...LOL).
What is the best part?
OMG there are so many great things I've learned in this past year, but the best part are the people. Fellow bookworms and book bloggers that share the same passion for reading (if not the same books). I would not have been able to get to know authors and publishers if it were not for my ever supporting book blogging community. And of course the next best thing about book blogging - book mail! I love getting sent books. Hihi.
What is the worst part?
Deadlines. Getting buried under my TBR mountain. Writing slower than I can read. My day job. Those are just a few things that have become daunting as a blogger. Sometimes I forget that this is my blog - I write what I want to write at my own time, take bookstagram pictures at my slow pace, and I am allowed to have fun while I am in the process of creating relevant content for my readers. Agree?
How long does it take you to find/create pictures to use?
Can I skip this because it's just..ugh! I take forever and a day to find props that will satisfy my need for my standard of bookstagram worthy pictures! ***now slinking away to mumble that I have more pictures to take.
Who’s your book crush?
Let's sit down and let Auntie Myrth tell you how it is. I do not have a book crush. I have obsessions. Now I only have 2 for the moment but I ship them something bad.

What author would you like to have on your blog?
I'd love to interview my favorite authors and have them post something on my blog - Traci Chee, Rin Chupeco, Alwyn Hamilton, Laini Taylor, Roshani Chokshi and many many more.
What do you wear when you write your blog?
Depends on where I am. I might be blogging when I'm at work so I'm in my office clothes. At my partner's parents so I'm decent. At home so I'm in my underwear because I don't wear pajamas (not even on cold days). Teehee.
How long does it take you to prepare a post?
If it's a book review maybe about 30min to an hour. If it's one of my lifestyle travel posts it might take longer because of the pictures I sort through to pick which to post. And then of course I spend another few hours on Twitter and playing games on my phone.
How do you feel about the book blogger community/culture?
I think I've talked about the book blogging community and how much I love them to death. I would not know where I was today without them.
What do you think one should do to have a successful blog?
A successful blog doesn't happen over night but it doesn't mean that you have already failed if you have a small blog. Everyone starts somewhere and will eventually be everywhere. If you want your blog to succeed first thing you should do is enjoy what you are doing - in reading, writing, taking pictures. Make friends and talk to people, they are your future readers. Create connections with those who have more experience in the blogging world, they will open doors for you. Take a leaf from someones book but make sure you're originality and uniqueness shines through. Be lazy, eat cake, have fun!
